Dr. Deborah Tierney · Medical Director
Dr. Deborah Tierney's journey unfolded in the heart of Baltimore, where she grew up and spent her childhood. From the Institute of Notre Dame to Purdue University, she cultivated a tapestry of knowledge, earning a Bachelor's of Agricultural Science degree as well as a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.
For over three decades, she's been a guiding light in animal medicine, adorning her path with local and national veterinary awards. Her story is a testament to a lifelong commitment that continues to enrich the world of veterinary excellence.
Dr. Irvin Herling · Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Herling, also a Baltimore native, has been practicing veterinary medicine since 1972. During his 50+ year career, he has not only practiced companion animal medicine but contributed to his profession by serving on the Board of Animal Control, Directing the Veterinary Technician program for the State of Maryland, and being a member of the Department of Surgery at Sinai Hospital.
While Dr. Herling enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, his specialty interest includes minimally invasive surgery, imaging, and oral surgery.
Dr. Patrick Coughlin · Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Coughlin grew up in Baltimore and attended the University of Maryland in College Park before going to Kansas State University for veterinary school. After graduation, he practiced dog and cat medicine for 2 years in Phoenix, Arizona, before spending 18 months at an all exotic animal hospital in Seattle, Washington.
Dr. Coughlin then moved home to Baltimore to work and be closer to family. Outside of work, he can often be found photographing various wildlife and landscape scenes and visiting various zoos and aquariums
in the area.
Dr. Emma Vaughan · Associate Veterinarian
Hailing from the vibrant streets of Boston, Massachusetts, Dr. Emma Vaughan's journey is a harmony of dedication. Her academic voyage began at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she pursued her Bachelor's degree in pre-veterinary medicine. Later, she ventured to Raleigh, North Carolina, to attend North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine to complete her medical studies.
Beyond her white coat, Dr. Vaughan is a maestro of human-animal connections and building meaningful bonds with clients and their pet families. She is especially intrigued in feline medicine and behavior.
Outside the hospital, you can find Dr. Vaughan spending quality time with her cat, Oscar, or enjoying a jog around the city.
