Microchipping

Doc·Side Veterinary Medical Center offers microchipping for your pets. Tags may fade, and collars come off, so get your pet permanent identification in case he or she is ever lost.

Getting your pet microchipped is similar to a routine vaccination. One of our doctors simply injects a microchip (about the size of a grain of rice) into your pet between his or her shoulder blades. No anesthetic is required as the process is not painful.

If your pet is ever lost, any veterinary office or shelter possessing a scanner waves it over your pet to read the unique ID contained within it. You can then be alerted that your pet has been found and reunited!
